2025 has been a year of growth for Podcast Party with more fascinating discussions and a growing community. What began two years ago as a small project ahead of the national election has grown into one of South Africa’s important platforms for civic dialogue.

From Level Up unpacking the main stories of the week to our Democracy Unplugged events taking on GNU, gender-based violence, the illicit economy, the collapse of local government, the future of AI…and more… our mission has remained the same: to create space for South Africans to think, question, disagree and make sense of this world together.

We welcomed extraordinary panellists – politicians, commentators, podcasters, activists, and business leaders – and watched our community grow across every platform. This year, our Facebook following passed 100,000 mark, a milestone we could never have imagined just two years ago, and our YouTube channel is building steadily. 

But the true highlight of the year? YOU! Your engagement, your questions, your critiques and your willingness to show up – online and in the room – have shaped this platform into something meaningful.
